Pinpoint with confidence New from sensor market leader ifm electronic the latest versions of laser sensors in a standard M18 housing open new vistas in optical sensing. Equipped with the safest class 1 lasers these third generation sensors will detect objects as small as 0.5 mm across, and the through-beam type will see as far as 60m, while presenting no danger at all to the users. The low energy class 1 (to IEC 60825-1) is considered the safest form of laser light, and as such doesn’t even require special labels. Sensor set-up couldn't be easier. With a visible light spot and the new pushbutton setting method the sensitivity and function can be set in next to no time. The range covers powerful through-beam systems, retroreflective types and background-suppressed diffuse to suit the most demanding applications often found in automated assembly. ifm’s new OG laser line are priced very competitively, comparable to a standard photocell, so the price is not going to be an issue when selecting a laser for the job in hand. All ifm electronic's new M18 sensors, laser and standard, feature a robust stainless-steel housing, standard M12 connector and there's a wide selection of accessories available to help fit, align and protect the sensors.
