Successful energy efficiency commitment of ifm electronic gmbh awarded
As one of the most successful participants in the project "EnBW Netzwerk Energieeffizienz Ravensburg", ifm electronic received the award for successful energy efficiency commitment on 19 November 2008. The award was duly celebrated with 60 invited guests at the exhibition opening "Klimaschutz - global denken, lokal handeln" in Ravensburg.
The responsible use of energy together with an efficient use of financial resources is the task of the network. 2 1/2 years ago eleven companies founded the network Ravensburg together with EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG. The common goal is to lastingly reduce their consumption of electricity, oil and gas and the associated carbon dioxide emissions within three years.
A positive effect already became visible in July 2008: "By the networking so far, the carbon dioxide balance in the Ravensburg region has already been improved by about 2.3 million kilograms of carbon dioxide per year", summarises project manager Armin Schreijäg of EnBW. In total, ifm electronic gmbh achieved savings of 2400 megawatt hours of combustible. For comparison: a private household consumes about 20 megawatt hours for heating, warm water and electricity per year.
With this project, ifm electronic assumes social as well as ecological responsibility for the region in which it produces.
